Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Trend Instant News ("we", "us") collects when you use trendinstantnews.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can.

What we collect and why

Reading the site

Our hosting provider records technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.

Analytics (only if you accept)

If you choose "Accept analytics" on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are read, how far people scroll, which links are clicked, and approximate location and device type. Google sets cookies for this. If you reject, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time on the cookie policy page.

Likes

When you like an article or comment, we set a random identifier in a cookie called tin_v (one year). We store only a scrambled (hashed) version of it, so that one browser counts once. It is not linked to your name or email.

Comments

If you post a comment we collect the name you type, your comment, and optionally your email. Your name and comment appear publicly once approved. Your email is never shown. To prevent spam and abuse we also store a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, which cannot be turned back into the address.

Contact form and email

If you write to us we collect your name, email address, the topic and your message, plus a hashed form of your IP address to limit spam. We use this only to read and reply to your message.

On your device

Your cookie choice, your list of saved articles and your text size preference are stored in your browser. They do not leave your device.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our weekly digest we collect your email address. We send a confirmation email first, and you are added to the list only after you click the link in it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Our legal bases (where GDPR or similar laws apply)

• Consent for analytics cookies. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Legitimate interests for running, securing and moderating the site, and preventing spam.
• Taking steps at your request when we answer your message.

• Google, if you accept analytics, to provide Google Analytics.
• Our hosting and database provider, which stores the site and the information described above on our behalf.
• Brevo, our email service provider, which stores newsletter subscribers and sends the emails.
• Authorities, if the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information. These providers may process data in countries other than your own.

How long we keep it

• Comments stay until we or you ask for them to be removed.
• Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and our records.
• Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
• Server logs are kept for a short period set by our hosting provider.
• Google Analytics retention follows the settings of our Google Analytics account.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, or to have a comment removed, email info@trendinstantnews.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

The site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Ads and affiliate links

We may add advertising or affiliate links in the future. If we do, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it. See the Affiliate Disclosure.
